Bio

Coach Marcus Harvey began his coaching career at Southeast Missouri State in 1981.  In 1985 Marcus became the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at MCC, the Head Women's Coach in 1993, and the Head Coach of Men's Basketball in 2003.  Marcus played college basketball at MCC-Penn Valley and Southeast Missouri State, going on to sign and play professionally in Argentina.  He was awarded MIAA All-Conference honors while playing at Southeast Missouri. Harvey completed his AA degree from MCC-Penn Valley, and his BA Degree from Avila University.

Coach Harvey's career has been decorated with a number of coaching awards and accomplishments.  He has nine region XVI Coach of the Year awards while serving as Head Coach for the women's team, and 11 Region XVI Coach of the Year awards while coaching the men's team.  The women's basketball team finished 2nd at the National Tournament in 1998 and 2001 during his tenure, and the men's team placed 3rd at the National Tournament in 2004 under his guidance.

Beginning in 2018, MCC Athletics programs combined all campus athletics as one NJCAA program.  That year also marked Coach Harvey's dual role as Head Coach for both the men's and women's basketball programs.  His 2018-19 women's team won both the Region XVI and District championship, becoming the first "MCC Wolves" team represented at the NJCAA National Tournament.

When lisiting his favorite things to do outside of coaching, Marcus enjoys playing golf and traveling, and lists "barbeque" as his most favorite thing about Kansas City.
