The bats were hot for the Wolves, scoring three quick runs in the first inning. A single by Alahna Wilson and Daelyn Williams lead to a RBI single from Jada Gilliland. The Grizzlies committed back-to-back errors which allowed Williams and Gilliland to score.
Payton Smith had a day, collecting three hits in four at bats. She singled in the third and fifth innings and hit a two-run homerun in the sixth to take back the lead. Wilson also contributed four hits. Williams, Gilliland, and Josie Adams each had two hits.
It came down to the seventh inning with two outs, the Grizzlies would walk off the game on a passed ball and win 8-9.
Game 2
The Wolves bounced back in Game 2 to beat the Grizzlies 8-2.
The bats remained hot in Game 2, the Wolves scored in every inning but two to secure the victory, thanks in part to Jada Gilliland.
Gilliland had three hits in three at bats, she singled in the first, doubled in the third, and tripled in the fifth. Daelyn Williams and Josie Adams both chipped in two hits as well.
Abbi Minton picked up the complete game win for the Wolves. Minton scattered seven hits and gave up two runs, one earned, struck out two, and walked none.
