Aaron Meade
Bio

Aaron Meade’s KC roots run deep, as he grew up off Barry Road, less than a mile from the MCC-Maple Woods Campus and his wife was born and raised in Overland Park. Upon graduation from Rockhurst HS, Meade went on to pitch 3 seasons at Missouri State University from 2008-2010, where he was a two-time All-MVC selection before being selected in the 10th round (324th overall) by the Los Angeles Angels. He was named the Angels’ Instructional League Pitcher of the Year in 2010.

In the fall of 2013, Meade returned to Missouri State to complete his degree and served as a volunteer assistant. Aaron went on to serve as the pitching coach at William Jewell College and Pittsburg State University, making NCAA Regional appearances with both programs. In the summer of 2019, Meade was offered his first head coaching opportunity at Tarleton State University where he was instrumental in helping the program transition from Division II to Division I during his tenure. Each coaching stop afforded him the opportunity to learn and work with successful programs in developing student-athletes.

Coach Meade's coaching success includes a number of MLB draftees, including: 2015 Toronto Blue Jays first-round RHP Jon Harris (29th overall), Matt Hall (2015 Detroit Tigers 6th round RHP), Colton Pogue (2018 Washington Nationals 28th round SS), and Alex Achtermann (2019 Colorado Rockies 30th round RHP). Coach Meade also worked with RHP Cal Quantrill (2016 San Diego Padres 8th overall pick), and recently coached a pitcher taken in the 15th round of each of the previous two MLB drafts: Matthew Hickey (2022) and Will Stevens (2023).

While growing up in the Northland, Maple Woods baseball was viewed as one of the top junior college programs in the Midwest, and Meade couldn’t be more excited to come home and build on that rich history. Coach Meade will reside in the Northland with his wife, Katherine and 2-year-old daughter, Joelle.
